The Wilder Elementary PTA has announced that two former students, now seniors at Westerville North High School, will receive scholarships in the amount of $750 each. Recipients are Ladan Barnes and Erin Upp. Applicants must have attended Wilder for at least four years and were encouraged to submit a short essay about a memorable Wilder experience.
Barnes wrote an essay about a very meaningful exchange she had in class with her fourth grade Social Studies teacher, Brett Gambill. Upp wrote an essay describing her fourth grade year at Wilder as “the best year” of her education, talking about the wonderful relationship she had with her teacher, Jean Allenbach (now retired). Both educators were delighted to learn that their students had gone on to such success and were thrilled to be able to present them with their scholarships.
