Mark Twain students, directed by music teacher Ian Murphy, entertained the crowd during a volunteer luncheon held at the school on Friday, May 8.

Volunteers packed the Mark Twain Elementary School gymnasium on Friday, May 8, where they were serenaded by students and treated to a feast of delicious food prepared by the staff.  Each table was adorned with fresh cut flowers, and every individual walked away with a recipe book that said, “You are the recipe for our success.”

As the school year comes to a close, events like these are taking place at many buildings throughout the Westerville City School District as students and staff put forth their best effort to make sure the volunteers know how much their service is valued.

Last fall, the Westerville Parent Council reported that Westerville City Schools gains the equivalent of nearly 67 full-time employees and hundreds of thousands of dollars toward student enrichment from parent and community support groups in the school district.
