Friends, family members, coaches and staff gathered in the Atrium at Westerville North High School on Monday, May 4, to watch as Jake Hinz signed a National Letter of Intent to wrestle for Indiana University.

Hinz was a four-year varsity letterman in wrestling and placed third at the 2015 Ohio State Wrestling Tournament.  He was a conference and sectional champion and a state qualifier in 2013, 2014, and 2015.  All four years he was awarded the Westerville North Coach’s Award for Outstanding Leadership and was named Team Captain every year except as a freshman.  This year he was also a runner-up at the prestigious Medina Invitational Tournament.

In addition, Hinz played football at North from the fall of 2011 through the fall of 2014.  He was named Team Captain as a junior and again as a senior.  He was also awarded team MVP those two years.  Hinz was named All-OCC and Second Team All-Metro.
