At the Westerville City Schools Board of Education meeting on Monday, April 13, star athletes were recognized for their accomplishments at the State level.  Westerville North High School senior swimmer Mason Miller was honored for becoming State Champion in the 100 yard butterfly, marking his third state championship.  He also earned the 100 yard butterfly title in 2014 and was 50-yard freestyle winner in 2013.

The Westerville South High School varsity basketball team, along with Coach Ed Calo and six assistant coaches, were lauded for their second place finish in the Division I Boys State Title contest.  They advanced further in the playoffs than any previous team at the school, and were applauded for an “exhilarating and historic season of play.”   State Representative Anne Gonzales also attended the meeting to offer her congratulations.
