Libraries for Liberia Founder and President Zuulu Cooper and its Board of Directors secretary Amy Birtcher accept a check in the amount of $275.41.

After learning that there are very few libraries in Liberia for people to enjoy, student leaders at Pointview Elementary School decided to host a variety of fund raisers to get money to buy books for the cause.  Libraries for Liberia, the pupils learned, was founded in December of 2010 by Westerville’s Zuulu Cooper, who organized a drive at Huber Ridge Elementary to collect reading material and textbooks for newly-formed libraries in schools or communities in his native country, Liberia.  Pointview’s Leadership Team picked up the gauntlet by selling Tootsie Pops, bracelets, necklaces, and hosting a Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character Day.  On March 27, during a school assembly, President Cooper was presented with a much-appreciated check in the amount of $275.41.  Donna Dixius advises Pointview’s Student Leadership Team.
