Alcott Elementary School hosted a family literacy night on Monday, March 9 with a Superhero theme.  The event started with Principal Joseph Uher reading the book Dex: The Heart of a Hero to the students.  Families then moved around the building to different literacy stations.  They made a mask to conceal their identity while creating their own superhero comic strip.  They brainstormed ideas to create their own superhero.  And they visited the Reading Headquarters to read and recharge their superhero powers.  Lastly, they refueled with a Super Snack they created.  Half-Priced books generously donated a book to each participating child.  Organizers also thanked Westerville Central National Honor Society students who lent a hand, along with the Alcott teachers who helped to make the night a Super Success.
