Opera Columbus presents The Marriage of Figaro this week, starring Westerville North High School graduate and bass-baritone Adam Cioffari, cast in the lead role.  A carnally-minded count, his neglected wife, their wily servants, and a young page who falls in love with every woman he sees, Mozart’s greatest comedy contains a cornucopia of wonderfully flawed and human characters that will amuse and delight.  It is being performed in English with the Columbus Symphony.  The show debuted March 4, and will also be performed on March 6 at 8:00 p.m. and March 8 at 2:00 p.m.  Tickets are available through the CAPA Ticket Center, at all Ticketmaster locations, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at 614/469-0939 and 800/745-3000.

Cioffari holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees, both in voice performance, from Indiana University in Bloomington.  His career has taken him all around the world, having sung, among other places, at the Staatsoper Stuttgary near Stuttgart, Germany; the Komische Oper in Berlin; and the Houston Grand Opera in Texas.
