Mark Twain Celebrates 40 Years of Excellence in Education

Clockwise, upper left:  Retired educators gathered for the celebration.  First grade students in Koleen Foley’s classroom contributed to the time capsule.  Parent volunteers made cookies and cupcakes for all to enjoy.  Art teacher Lindsay Gietz created a new mural on the gymnasium wall.  And keynote speaker Mindy Drayer, a Mark Twain alumni and NBC-4 anchor, interviewed Principal Vicki Moss.

 

 

Mark Twain Elementary School celebrated its 40th anniversary on Friday afternoon, November 21, at a school assembly and open house for the community.  Highlights included the dedication of a new mural in the gymnasium, the creation of a time capsule, a display of the school’s history, and tours of the building led by student leaders.  Mark Twain alumni and NBC-4 news anchor Mindy Drayer was the keynote speaker.  She focused on the importance of long-lasting friendships.
