On Wednesday, November 5, Heritage Middle School hosted an Ice Cream Sundae Social to celebrate 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Renaissance qualifiers from the first quarter of this school year. More than 350 students were in attendance. Pupils enjoyed their ice cream with toppings such as chocolate or caramel drizzle, Oreo pieces, sprinkles, and whipped cream. A prize drawing took place during 7th period where students also earned the opportunity to use their electronic devices and socialize. Prizes included a Kindle Fire HDX with cover and a $15 Amazon gift card, Ohio State football tickets, Ohio State themed baskets, a sports-themed basket, a pink-themed basket, a neon school supply basket, gift cards to McDonalds, AMC, iTunes, Gamestop and more. The Heritage PTSA donated prizes and volunteered their time to help out with this event.
Heritage’s Renaissance program recognizes students who have displayed excellence in the fields of academics, attendance, behavior, school involvement, and school and/or community service. Pupils must meet requirements and apply each quarter to be a part of the program.
