The boys and girls cross country teams at Westerville Central High School will be hosting their annual Westerville GameDay 5k race/walk tomorrow, November 8. A half-mile Kids Fun Run starts at 8:30, and the 5k run/walk begins at 8:45 a.m. Westerville Central is located at 7118 Mount Royal Avenue.
This 5k road race/walk serves as the primary fundraiser for the girls and boys cross country programs at Westerville Central. Each year the goal is to promote running and exercise while creating a fun, family-oriented event with a football, “game day” feel. The event offers GameDay 5k t-shirts, age group awards, cash prizes for overall winners, door prizes and other giveaways. The Westerville GameDay 5k originated in the fall of 2008.
This year’s race proceeds will also benefit the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. To help fight hunger, one dollar of every entry fee will be donated to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank of Columbus.
