Westerville City Schools will host its 14th annual LEGO Competition on Saturday, April 18, 2020, in the main gymnasium at Westerville North High School, located at 950 County Line Road. Registration starts at 10 a.m., followed by LEGO building (10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.), judging (11:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.), and an awards ceremony immediately following judging. Additional activities and details are available on the event information/registration flier.

The competition is open to elementary and middle school students from Westerville City Schools and St. Paul School. Competitors can build anything they want, but must bring their own LEGO materials to do so. Nothing can be pre-built prior to the event and no LEGO directions or pictures will be permitted. Parental assistance is not allowed, but a designated viewing area will be provided. Participants will be given precisely one hour to build, and will have a 4 ft. x 4 ft. space to do so. Prizes will be awarded and all participants will receive a certificate of participation. Beverages and food items will be available for purchase during the event.

Registration costs $10 and will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants must preregister by Friday, April 10, 2020; on-site registration is not available. Participants will have an opportunity to attend a free coaching session offered by Ohio LEGO User Group from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. on April 14, 2020, at Robert Frost Elementary. All proceeds benefit the Westerville North Academic Boosters. For questions, please contact Maria Soisson at soissonm@westerville.k12.oh.us.
