Students at Cherrington were delighted to see their principal, Mr. Heck, dressed like Woody from “Toy Story.”
Cherrington Elementary Principal Andy Heck surprised his students on Friday, October 11, when he showed up to school dressed as Woody, from Toy Story. Heck was making good on his promise to dress up after pupils and families raised more than $11,500 during a Walk-A-Thon held on September 20. Generous community sponsors brought in an additional $2,300, for a grand total of $13,800. Because the children met their ultimate goal, they earned an in-school movie and popcorn with their principal, dressed in costume.
With these funds, the PTA will be able to provide field trips, COSI on Wheels, exciting assemblies, playground equipment, supplemental reading materials, clubs, teacher grants, and family fun events at school. Organizers expressed their gratitude to sponsors Shirck Orthodontics; Ron and Kristin Riebe at Edward Jones; and Holistic Consultations.
