On Friday, April 26, students at Cherrington Elementary had the opportunity to engage in a variety of games at Family Game Night. In addition to bingo, chess, and large motor games in the gym, pupils learned new logic games to challenge their creative thinking skills. Angie Heath, an instructor from the district Gifted Department, set up activities such a Gravity Maze, Laser Maze, Set, and Rush Hour for youngsters to stretch their problem solving skills. Games were available for purchase benefiting WCS WINGS, a new parent teacher organization for families of gifted students. The fifth grade class at Cherrington also served a pancake dinner to families to raise money for a graduation celebration. Children completing five games or more were able to win prizes such as mini-cubes or keychain puzzles.
