Westerville City School District (WCSD) Superintendent Dr. John Kellogg today announced that Lori Lofton has submitted her resignation as the district’s Executive Director of Human Resources and Employee Relations.  Lofton, whose last day with WCSD will be June 1, 2018, is leaving the district to become Assistant Superintendent of New Albany-Plain Local Schools.

“Lori has been with our district since August 2014; her skills and experience truly will be missed,” Kellogg said.  “Under Lori’s leadership, we have implemented more comprehensive evaluation systems across nearly all employee groups; updated job descriptions for administrators, teachers and supplemental contracts; transitioned to a new licensure and professional development system; and implemented online leave approvals and balances for employees.”

Lofton said that during her remaining time with WCSD, she will work with the district’s leadership team and Human Resources staff to ensure a smooth transition.

“This was not an easy decision to make because my time with the district has been very rewarding,” Lofton said.  “I've enjoyed being a part of the district’s family and am proud of the relationships I’ve made along the way with administrators, labor management representatives and staff, as well as our work to provide more consistent support to staff and improve our customer service.”

Kellogg said the district will soon begin a search for Lofton’s replacement, which he anticipates will be filled prior to the start of next school year.
