On Wednesday, January 18, COSI (Center of Science and Industry) brought its newest traveling program, The Incredible Human Machine, to students at Cherrington Elementary School.  This innovative, interactive program stimulated young imaginations by comparing the inner working of the human body to an engine.

The day began with a 45-minute interactive assembly where pupils were introduced to the nervous, digestive, respiratory, and circulatory systems.  They also learned how proper nutrition and exercise improve their function.  Hands-on activity sessions, manned by parent volunteers, followed.

This COSI on Wheels program compliments the National Science Education Standards, and encourages youngsters to apply the principles of health and nutrition to their daily lives.  The Incredible Human Machine is made possible through the generous support of presenting sponsor American Dairy Association Mideast and supporting sponsor Abbott Fund.
