Crowds gathered at Cherrington Elementary School on Thursday evening, February 18, for the Family Literacy Night and Book Fair. Pupils and their parents were invited to wear costumes as they made their way through the building visiting literacy stations to give parents strategies and activities they can use at home to improve reading. Stations included Star War’s Sight Word Games, the Book Walk Game, Reading is Super!, Poetry Karaoke, the Dr. Seuss Room, and Camp Read-a-Lot. By attending the event, each child received their own book and had the opportunity to win books for their classrooms.
