October 15 was not a typical day at Cherrington Elementary. As students arrived for school, they were greeted by Batman, standing on the roof, spreading his wings in dramatic fashion, and telling them to try their best and have a good day. Principal Andrew Heck proved true to his word when, after pupils surpassed their fund-raising goal of $10,500, he agreed to dress as Batman. The children cheered and parents and staff took a lot of pictures, a nice way to start the day. One child remarked, “He is the greatest principal ever!”
