The Rotary Club of Westerville, which sponsors a Student of the Month program, recognized recipients at a luncheon at Villa Milano held on Thursday, December 12.  December students are Emily Enyame, Westerville Central High School; Jaiden Stokes, Westerville North High School; Jacob Llaneza, Westerville South High School; and Nate Stevens, St. Francis DeSales High School.

The purpose of the program is twofold:  to recognize outstanding pupils who have distinguished themselves by serving their school and to expose them to the Rotary Club and its ideal of “Service Above Self.”  Students selected join Rotarians for lunch every week for a month, and have the opportunity to interact with members.

Emily Enyame, a senior at Westerville Central, holds a 3.7 grade point average (GPA).  Math is her favorite subject of study.  She is active in marching band, Global Scholars (GS), and the MODEL mentoring program.    She participated in Central’s Black History Month Show and the GS Food Insecurity Project.  Enyame, a member of the National Honor Society, plans to attend New York University and study Global Public Health and Nutrition.

St. Francis DeSales senior Nate Stevens says Physics is his favorite subject.  He has earned a 3.8 GPA.  He is the DeSales Tennis Team Captain, a member of the National Honor Society, and is a marching and concert band section leader.  Stevens played in the Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestra last year, has performed at Carnegie Hall, and was selected for Buckeye Boys State.  He is a four-year varsity letterman who has earned many academic and athletic awards.  He plans to study Aeronautics and become a pilot.
