For the 13th consecutive year, Challenge Day is returning in November to all three Westerville high schools – Central, North and South.  All high school students are invited to participate in this powerful, life-changing day that alters the way they view each other.  Challenge Day addresses issues of isolation, racism, stereotypes, peer-pressure and bullying within the context of teen life.  During this award-winning program, students are engaged in games, activities, group discussions, and trust-building exercises.  Challenge Day empowers them to break down the walls of separation and to increase understanding, tolerance, acceptance, friendship, and positive peer support.  In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, students are challenged to “be the change they wish to see in the world.”

Since 2008, Challenge Day programs have been presented in Westerville high schools and have helped transform the lives of nearly 6,000 students.  Challenge Day has not only received numerous awards, but has also been featured in the best-selling book, Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul, the Emmy Award-winning documentary, Teen Files: Surviving High School, and on the Oprah! television show.  More information can be found at www.challengeday.org.

Participating students will be excused from their classes for that day.  Spots are still available at Central (November 11 or 12), South (November 13) and North (November 14).  To register, forms may be picked up in the main office or printed out at
