Classes will not be held in the Westerville City School District on Tuesday, November 5 – Election Day and a Professional Development Day for employees.  Teachers and classified staff will participate in learning sessions, many of which will be led by Westerville educators who have demonstrated expertise in particular areas.  These full days of professional development are a valuable way for teachers to grow as instructors and a cost-effective way to learn from each other, identify best practices, and implement initiatives across the school district that have resulted in positive academic gains for pupils.  Classes will resume at normal starting times on Wednesday, November 6.

Families may be interested to learn that although the Center of Science and Industry (COSI) is normally closed on Mondays and Tuesdays during the fall and winter, they plan to open this year on Tuesday, November 5, Election Day, so community members can enjoy a fun, educational day while school is not in session.  Hours on the 5th will be from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
