This is my seventh year serving as the Library Media Specialist, Teacher-Librarian, Information Specialist, Library Lady, etc. at Westerville South High School. After graduating from Texas A&M with a degree in English, I worked for Electronic Data Systems as a technical writer and then as a programmer. My career in education started when I began volunteering in my children's elementary school library. I became a substitute teacher, then serendipitously was hired as a technology para-pro instructing in a Mac computer lab in another elementary school. That experience inspired me to attain my Master's degree in Library Media Technology from Georgia State University. I spent three years working at a middle school in Cobb County, Georgia before moving to Ohio. It was then that I found my true calling as a high school media specialist. I work with super students and staff and learn as much from them as they learn from me.
When I arrived at South, my goal for the first year was to provide students and community members with virtual access to as many resources as possible. Over the years this evolved from a basic web page to the wiki I now maintain. I am constantly looking for ways to improve and enhance my students' interactions with information, technology, and each other.
Students can access all our electronic resources from the Wildcats Media Center
