Courtney Hornyak began playing lacrosse in 7th grade for the Westerville Pumas. As a freshman at Westerville North High School (WNHS), she made the varsity team and has since played in every varsity game for the Warriors lacrosse program. During a February 5, 2020, ceremony in the WNHS Warrior Learning Center, the senior signed her letter of intent to play lacrosse for the Georgetown College Tigers in Georgetown, Kentucky. Hornyak, who plans to study psychology, made an official visit to the school during the summer of 2017 and was able to stay on campus, connect with coaches, and practice with the team. She said that weekend “sealed the deal” as she fell in love with the campus, the experience with the team, and seeing the coaches in action.
