Seventeen Westerville North Journalism 1, Journalism 2 and Journalism 3 students attended the Columbus Blue Jackets Public Relations Day on Jan. 14, 2020, at Nationwide Arena.

They heard a speakers' panel that included the Blue Jackets' PA announcer, vice president of digital marketing, team ambassador, director of communications, marketing manager, and director of broadcasting.

Following the panel discussion, students were given a behind-the-scenes tour of the facilities. They were also treated to a two-hour skate on NHL ice at the arena. After a dinner break, the students attended the Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Boston Bruins game, where the Blue Jackets emerged victorious with a 3-0 score.

The attendees are Maryann Hines's journalism students.
