Three Westerville North athletes sign to play baseball at the next level

(Left to Right) Seniors Auri Dover, Harper Flynn, and Cooper Crawford were joined by WNHS Head Baseball Coach Sean Ring as the students signed their Letters of Intent to continue playing baseball at the collegiate level.

 

 

 

Friends, family members, staff, and coaches gathered in the Warrior Learning Center at Westerville North High School on Thursday, January 9, to watch and celebrate as three of the school’s baseball players signed Letters of Intent to continue competing at the collegiate level.

Auri Dover, son of Kirk and Carrie Dover, signed to play at Marietta College; Cooper Crawford, son of Alex and Jen Crawford, signed to play at Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU); and Harper Flynn, son of Ed and Merka Flynn, signed to play at Ohio Northern University (ONU). WNHS Athletic Director Wes Elifritz hosted the ceremony and, along with head baseball coach Sean Ring, congratulated the seniors on their outstanding high school careers and commitment to continue athletics at the collegiate level.

Dover is a four-year student athlete at Westerville North, playing football in the fall and baseball in the spring. He has been a member of the Warrior Athlete Leadership Team (WALT) the past two school years and plans on studying Business while at Marietta.

Crawford has been a member of the varsity baseball team at Westerville North the past two school years after transferring from Worthington Christian. He played the past three years for Olentangy Stix Elite travel baseball team and is a member of the National Honor Society.  At MVNU, Crawford plans on a major in Business Management and a minor in Sports Management.

Flynn is a member of National Honor Society and Trailblazers, a Westerville community project charged with designing and constructing a walking path in Heritage Park. Harper is a scholar athlete and achieved honor roll status each year of his high school career. While at ONU, Harper plans on studying Engineering with a possible focus on Mechanical or Environmental Engineering.
