Casey Campbell, a Westerville North High School student who attends the Delaware Area Career Center for Digital Design, recently entered a Business Professionals of America (BPA) competition in the Virtual Multimedia Production and Promotion Individual Event categories. His challenge was to “take a recent moment in your life and create a 1 - 2:30 minute video about it to show how that moment impacted you and your community.” He created a video about teenage depression and suicidal thoughts because he “wanted to help other students around the country who were feeling like me.” He named the video This is My Story.
His film ended up being judged and it placed in the Top 20. The next day, after other critics reviewed his video, Campbell found out he made Top 10 in the nation. He went to Anaheim, California last week to accept the award. His film was also entered into another competition called the BPA Showcase. “Thanks to the DACC for the opportunities it has given me to showcase my talents for the last two years,” said Campbell. He will attend Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania next fall and will major in Cinematography.
