Thanks to the Rotary Club of Westerville, two students from the Westerville City School District will have the opportunity to attend District 6690’s annual Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Conference (RYLA) at Ohio University in Athens from July 18-20.  Leo Fagge, a student at Westerville South High School, and Lindsey Hartshorn, a Westerville North pupil, were identified by Rotary as young people who have demonstrated leadership skills and will benefit by attending.

During the conference, participants will:

• Explore their own style and strengths;
• Learn skills that will enable them to be aware of and able to address community needs;
• Interact with adult role models who are active in their professions and community;
• Develop and learn leadership skills; and
• Develop an appreciation for community service.

RYLA is a chance for students to meet other outstanding students from central and southeastern Ohio while spending two and a half days learning about themselves, learning from others and having fun.  Conference topics include Learning to Dialogue, Behavioral Styles, Rotary, and Society.
