Westerville North’s Mitch Potterf Signs Letter of Intent to Wrestle at West Point

Friends, family members, teammates, coaches, teachers and administrators gathered in the Media Center at Westerville North High School on Tuesday afternoon, April 25, to watch and celebrate as Mitch Potterf, a four-year Scholar Athlete, signed a Letter of Intent to attend the United States Military Academy – West Point.  There, he plans to study Mechanical Engineering while competing on the wrestling team. 

During high school, Potterf was a four year starter for the Wrestling Team, OHSAA 3x District Qualifier, OHSAA 2019 District Champion, OHSAA 2 x State Placer, Columbus Dispatch all Metro Team, This Week News 2019 Athlete Finalist, USA- Wrestling Ohio State Greco Roman Champion, USA- Wrestling Ohio State Freestyle Runner Up, and national qualifier. 

In his free time, Potterf likes to help with the Westerville United youth wrestling program, hang out with friends, and chase Pokémon.  His favorite high school sports moment was making a snowman in the wrestling locker room.  He would like to challenge his teammates to be the best they can be in the classroom and on the mat, and said he looks forward to serving his country.
