Every year, shortly after school begins, seniors at Westerville North High find themselves marching into the gymnasium to thunderous applause from parents, staff and underclassmen.  Each is given a yellow rose to carry, the thorns of which have been removed to symbolize obstacles they have overcome to get to this milestone in their lives.  Principal Kurt Yancey shares a few words of inspiration, as do class officers.  The ceremony has become a beloved rite of passage at the school, commemorating the beginning of what hopefully will become an outstanding and memorable senior year.  This year’s Yellow Rose Ceremony drew a standing-room-only crowd.  It took place on Friday morning, August 17.
