For the second year, Westerville North and Westerville South high schools teamed up to help raise funds for the Friends of Faith Pruden Foundation, an organization started by Westerville teacher Mary Taylor as a way to raise money to help families stricken by pediatric cancer.  Faith would have been a freshman this year at North.  Sadly, she passed from brain cancer back in 2010 at the age of eight.  She hoped to be remembered, and the Warriors and Wildcats did just that.

While both schools ran different fundraising contests, each was hugely successful.  At North, senior Trent McFarland and history teacher Ben Hartnell orchestrated a “Principal-For-A-Day” contest that saw 14 staff members compete for Principal Kurt Yancey's job.  Students placed money in various boxes earmarked for each staff member.  In the end, Head Custodian John Edwards was victorious and will be leading the school on a designated day later this month while Yancey will fulfill Edwards’ duties around the building.

At Westerville South, senior Emma Davidson set up a competition among homerooms with a major prize at stake:  the winning homeroom would be served pancakes by South Principal Michael Starner.  Jim Cowman’s class took the prize.
