Two Westerville North High School Journalism III students, seniors Shelby Gambill and Sam Wood, were invited to attend the Ohio School Boards Association’s annual convention, which was held in Columbus.
Gambill, editor-in-chief of the school newspaper, The Odyssey, and Wood, business manager and photographer for The Odyssey, were asked to cover the OSBA’s Student Achievement Fair, which highlighted student projects from all around Ohio.
The Westerville North pupils wrote an article and took photos that were published in the Ohio School Boards Association’s professional journal.
OSBA’s Senior Editorial Manager, Gary Mortz, said the student journalists did “an outstanding job on the article and the photos.”
The Odyssey adviser, Maryann Hines, was contacted by Mortz, who said he sought out North’s students on the basis of the school publication’s longstanding reputation.
