Westerville North High School inducted three alumni into its Hall of Fame at a luncheon and ceremony held April 7 – Renee Balconi, Jennifer Brady Aultman, and Shaun Stonerook.  The school’s Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee selected those honored from a pool of applicants who graduated at least 10 years ago, have demonstrated success in their career, and have made significant contributions to their community.

Superintendent John Kellogg meets with the Student Advisory throughout the school year.  He praised the pupils for their honesty and respectful perspectives that help identify and find solutions to district-wide concerns.  He also thanked this year’s group of Hall of Fame inductees for the example they have set.

Renee Balconi graduated from North in 2001.  As a high school student, she participated in basketball and soccer.  She later attended the University of Cincinnati (UC), where she earned a scholarship to play soccer.  Balconi was the first UC player to sign a professional international contract.  Following graduation, she played professional soccer for six years.  Holding a number of certifications, Balconi went on to be a yoga instructor, an injury prevention specialist and a sports nutritionist.  She now owns her own training facility, Balconi Top Training, and has been recognized in magazines for her dedication to personal fitness.  As a trainer, she works with high school, college and professional athletes.  Balconi currently resides in Blue Ash, Ohio, with her wife, Lindsey.  Jennifer Bowers nominated her for this award.

Jennifer Brady Aultman, a 1993 graduate, was active in French Club, Key Club and Amnesty International.  Earning a Bachelor of Arts with Highest Distinction from the University of Virginia (UV), Aultman majored in Archaeology and Environmental Sciences.  With a Master of Arts, she currently is a PhD candidate in Anthropology at UV.  Aultman is the World Heritage Project Coordinator at the Ohio History Connection and the Director of Religious Education at a local church.  As a volunteer, she has focused on Westerville City Schools.  Chairing the successful 2012 levy campaign, she also is co-founder of Westerville Partners in Education.  Additionally, she works fostering dogs through Dog Rescue.  Aultman resides in Westerville with her husband, Chris, and their three daughters.  She was nominated by Stephanie Henderson.

Shaun Stonerook, a 1995 graduate, was a four-year basketball letterman and a member of North’s 1994 State Championship team.  At the collegiate level, he played basketball for The Ohio State University and Ohio University (OU).  He graduated from OU with a degree in Sports Management.  Stonerook went on to play professional basketball in Belgium and Italy for 12 years.  After his retirement, he founded the Shaun Stonerook Foundation in 2012, an organization that helps families and children through both foster care and adoption processes.  In 2015, he also founded the Association of American Athletes Abroad.  Stonerook lives in Westerville with his wife, Manuela, and their two children.  Stephanie and Collins McGeorge nominated him for induction.
