Students and staff enthusiastically signed a pledge banner to end the word.

For six years, a memorable event has taken place at Westerville North High School.  Spread the Word to End the Word, a nationwide campaign to bring acceptance to all people and end the use of the derogatory R-word (retarded), is picking up steam.  On March 2, special education students at the school hosted a luncheon for supporters, and hundreds of classmates and staff joined the cause, signing a pledge in support of inclusion and condemning the use of such hurtful language.  Food was generously donated by more than 25 local restaurants.
