Westerville North High School’s Academic Boosters celebrated the hard work of 288 students at the 31st annual Academic Honors Awards Banquet, which was held on Wednesday evening, October 12.  Families packed the school cafeteria to watch with pride as their children received certificates for having achieved a grade point average of 3.7 or above for the 2015-2016 school year.  PSAT All-Stars and SAT Commended Scholars were also recognized, and departmental awards were given as well.

Academic Booster banquet coordinators Lauren Hoffman, Tracey King, Cheryl Bergsman and Janet Steele organized the event, which was made possible with the help of many volunteers.  Principal Kurt Yancey greeted the packed house with words of welcome and congratulations.

Keynote speaker Jim McCann encouraged the students to consider their legacy and to continue embracing excellence by adhering to the “Warrior Way” throughout their lives.  He said those being recognized gave him great hope for the future, even in these troubled times.
