High School Marching Band Competition Scheduled for October 15 at Westerville North

Westerville North High School will host its fifth annual Mid-States Band Association Marching Band Invitational on Saturday, October 15.  North is located at 950 County Line Road.

The event begins at 11:50 a.m. and should end by 8:30 p.m.  Westerville’s Central and North high school marching bands, plus marching bands from five other high schools in Ohio and Kentucky, will each perform their halftime shows twice.  Awards will be presented based on second performance scoring by judges.

Fans of high school marching bands and color guards are invited to attend and cheer on the student musicians and guard members as they perform their halftime shows.  In addition to the two Westerville high schools, the marching bands and color guards from the following high schools are scheduled to perform:  Grove City Christian High School, Grove City; Olentangy High School, Lewis Center; Northeastern High School, Springfield; Marion Harding High School, Marion; and Raceland-Worthington High School, Raceland, Kentucky.

Westerville Central is scheduled to perform at 2:10 and 6:15 p.m.; Westerville North is scheduled to perform at 3:55 and 7:15 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased on event day at North High School’s Jim McCann Stadium.  Cost is $10 for adults; $5 for seniors 65 and over and children 10 and under.  Concessions will be available for purchase at the event.

Proceeds from the event benefit music programs at Westerville North.
