Principal Kurt Yancey addresses students, staff and parents.

Every year, shortly after school begins, seniors at Westerville North High find themselves marching into the gymnasium to thunderous applause from parents, staff and underclassmen.  Each is given a yellow rose to carry, the thorns of which have been removed to symbolize obstacles they have overcome to get to this milestone in their lives.  Principal Kurt Yancey shares a few words of inspiration, as do class officers.  The ceremony has become a beloved rite of passage at the school, commemorating the beginning of what hopefully will become an outstanding and memorable senior year.
