Westerville North High School inducted three alumni into its Hall of Fame at a luncheon and ceremony held April 8 – Jeff Cashman, Jeannette Giamarco Frashier and Lori Peters.  The school’s Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee selected those honored from a pool of applicants who graduated at least 10 years ago, have demonstrated success in their career, and have made significant contributions to their community.

Superintendent John Kellogg meets with the Student Advisory throughout the school year and he praised the pupils for their honesty and respectful perspectives which help identify and find solutions to district-wide concerns.  He also thanked this year’s group of Hall of Fame inductees for the example they have set.

Jeff Cashman graduated from Westerville North in 1983.  As a high school student, he participated in Photo Club and Ski Club.  Cashman attended The Ohio State University.  Later, he became the first college graduate in his family when he earned a Bachelor’s degree from Franklin University.  Cashman contributes to the community by volunteering locally at WARM, My Very Own Blanket, Westerville Special Olympics and Field of Heroes.  In 1996 his volunteer work was acknowledged when he was named a Community Hero and picked to carry the Olympic torch through Central Ohio.  He currently works as an account manager at Wichert Insurance and resides in Westerville with his wife and children.

Jeannette Giamarco Frashier, a 2001 graduate, played softball and participated in Young Life for four years during high school.  She was a member of Sweetheart Court and a Pinnell dancer.  After graduating from Westerville North, Frashier joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at Lakeland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.  She has volunteered in the community by serving meals at a Columbus shelter, and she is also a member of the Women’s Life Chapter and the Ruby Ribbon Group.  As a master sergeant, she is currently stationed at Rickenbacker Air Base.  She resides in Groveport with her husband, David (who is also in the Air Force), along with their two children.

Lori Peters, a 1994 graduate, was active in Key Club when she was a student at North.  She also served as a student athletic trainer.  Peters earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Interpreting from Columbus State, and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science from the University of Cincinnati.  She will soon graduate with a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from the University of Dayton.  Peters is the coordinating director for the Signs of Christmas program; an interpreter coordinator for Ohio Youth Leadership Forum; and North’s American Sign Language (ASL) club advisor.  She resides in Columbus and teaches ASL at Westerville North and South high schools.
