To help promote literacy and reading for enjoyment, Westerville North’s Strategic Reading students chose picture books and read them to second graders at Robert Frost Elementary School on Thursday, December 10.  Leslie Baumann’s students from North selected their favorite childhood picture books and practiced reading them to each other before going to the elementary building. The high school students asked questions before, during, and after reading the books to reinforce the reading skills of previewing, predicting, summarizing, and evaluating.  High schoolers also worked on fluency, as well as reading with enthusiasm. Together, the pupils enjoyed the shared opportunity to read for fun.
