Westerville North High School will host its fourth annual Mid-States Band Association Marching Band Invitational on Saturday, October 17. North is located at 950 County Line Road.
The event begins at 12:30 p.m. and should end by 8:45 p.m. A color guard of military veterans from Westerville’s American Legion Post 171 will participate in the opening ceremony at 12:35 p.m. Westerville Central, South and North, plus four other high school marching bands, will each perform their halftime shows twice: North is scheduled to play at 4:15 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.; Central is scheduled to play at 2:30 p.m. and sometime after 5:30 p.m.; and South is scheduled to play at 3:55 p.m. and sometime after 5:30 p.m.
Also participating in the competition of high school marching bands are Colerain, Delaware Hayes, Grove City Christian and Archbishop McNicholas.
The public is invited to attend and vote for their favorite band. Tickets can be purchased on event day at Westerville North High School’s Jim McCann Stadium. Cost is $10 for adults; $5 for seniors 65 and over and children 10 and under; and free for Westerville middle school students who show their school ID. Concessions will be available for purchase.
Proceeds from the event will benefit music programs at Westerville North.
