Sophie Sneeringer, a ninth-grader at Westerville Central High School, and her younger sister, Lena Sneeringer, an eighth-grader at Genoa Middle School, participated in a virtual mentorship experience in late August with leftchannel, a design consultant group focused on content in motion.
Alberto Scirocco, a former instructor at Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) and founder and creative director of leftchannel, met with the young artists to discuss his creative journey, forms of technology, inspirations, and suggested pathways for them to follow for careers in the arts. With national and international accounts in branches located in Milan, Italy and downtown Columbus, Scirocco, an Italian native, wove themes of internationalism and entrepreneurship into the conversation facilitated by leftchannel’s Managing Director Candy Stoer and the WCS Gifted Education Department.
