Westerville Central High School student Kaii Brown has earned Honorable Mention at the state level of the Letters about Literature competition.  Brown’s letter to author novelist Matthew Quick competed against more than 900 letters submitted statewide in the high school division for this year’s contest.  Her letter is one of seven in the State of Ohio recognized for the highest honors in the competition.  Central junior Jada Harvey’s letter to poet Katherine Smith took her to the semi-final round of the state competition.

Letters about Literature is a reading and writing contest in which students are asked to write to the author (living or dead) about how a book the student has read affected them personally. Letters are judged at state and national levels. Tens of thousands of students from across the country participate each year.
