Central students were pleased to be able to attend the 2017 Genetic Update Conference at Thomas Worthington High School.

Students from Westerville Central High School’s AP Biology and Medical Interventions course felt privileged to listen to Dr. Sam Rhine, a retired professor from Indiana University, present at the 2017 Genetic Update Conference at Thomas Worthington High School.  Dr. Rhine’s focus was Genes and Cancer…and CRISPR.  He shared more than 538 slides of valuable information to pupils from all around Central Ohio, who learned about cutting-edge technology impacting biology, medicine, pharmacy and genetics.  Those who attended the conference will take this information and create a video blog to teach other students about these recent advancements as many of the topics discussed will not be found in textbooks for several years.  The pupils expressed gratitude to Principal Tom Lanier and the Westerville Central Academic Boosters for helping them attend such a worthwhile conference.
