Westerville Central’s Noah Martin Advances to Poetry Out Loud State Final

Noah Martin, a sophomore at Westerville Central High School, has moved on to the state final competition for the national poetry recitation contest, Poetry Out Loud.  Martin competed at the state semifinals on March 5 at The Ohio Historical Center, reciting In Flanders Fields by John McCrae in round 1.  In round 2, he recited John Straley’s poem, Every Single Day.  Martin is one of six central Ohio high school students to advance to the state finals, which will be held at COSI on March 19.  Martin is coached by Amy Farris, Jim Grannis, Scott Paynter and Bridget Cargin.

The winner of the state final will advance to Nationals in Washington, D.C. in May to compete for a $20,000 grand prize.  For further information, please visit www.poetryoutloud.org
