On Wednesday, October 28, students from Beth Eddy’s Material Science class at Westerville South High School and Danny Hunt’s Physics class at Westerville Central joined other pupils from the area for a special visit to Lake Shore Cryotronics, Inc., a privately held corporation which has been an international leader in the development of innovative measurement and control technologies since 1968.  Lake Shore products are used by researchers around the world at universities, national labs, and business research centers to characterize the electrical and magnetic properties of materials.

Lake Shore hosted the half-day student event at its Westerville facility to exhibit the variety of technical, scientific and engineering jobs they employ and explain how their products are used in the science community.  It is their hope that showcasing their facility, manufacturing environment and products and explaining real-life science applications will create an interest for the students to seek a career in a technical field of study.  Westerville educators expressed appreciation for this outstanding learning opportunity.
