Westerville City Schools hosted Health Heroes Flu Vaccination Clinics for pupils at all school buildings on October 21 and 22, with the goal of improving student achievement by reducing absenteeism.  The District was first to pilot the program in the State of Ohio last year.

Students with private insurance or Medicaid were provided the vaccine with no out of pocket expenses or deductibles and participation was voluntary.  Qualifying uninsured students were given the vaccine free of charge.  FluMist®, the LAIV Quadrivalent pain-free, nasal spray vaccine was provided.  Flu Zone® TIV, or injections, were also available.
