The Warhawk Family has a variety of courses, clubs and sports. We urge you to participate! The list below provides you with the names of the activities and their advisors:
Arts Alive: Arts Alive is a group that works to create our giant arts festival to showcase all of Central's visual and performing art students. Each year it is a little different, but usually includes a student created T-shirt, a art gallery, interactive art, performances, and over 100 chalk murals around the school! Anyone can join and participate. Planning begins in January for our April event. Advisor: Jennifer Kiko
Art Club: Art Club is a safe and interactive place for students of all skill levels and interests to create and experiment with a variety of art and media. We meet every other Tuesday from 2:30 - 3:30. Advisor: Derrick Ehlen
Junior Class Officers: Elected representatives from the Junior class are primarily responsible for organizing and executing the production of the Junior/Senior Prom which takes place each year in early May. As a means of supporting this well-attended, annual event, the junior class officers also organize school fund-raising activities and are responsible for aspects of junior class meetings throughout the year. Advisors: Mike Mahoney
Key Club: Key Club is an international, student-led organization that is part of the Kiwanis family The club provides its members with opportunities to volunteer, build character, and develop leadership. Key Club is the oldest and largest service program for high school students. Each year our members volunteer for over 1,000 hours of service in events such as Trick or Treat for UNICEF, Caring and Sharing, Pennies for Patients, and other local events with Genoa Township and Westerville Parks and Recreation. Key Club meets every Monday in room 2301 at 2:15. The length of meetings varies depending on the amount of projects we are involved in at that time. Most meetings are over by 2:45. Advisor: Jennifer Horn
Newspaper: WC News is Westerville Central's student produced newspaper. Staff members write about and photograph happenings important to Central's population. They also design and layout the newspaper. Note: Journalism 2/3 is linked to this group. Advisor: Cari Erlinger
Spanish Club: Spanish club offers students an opportunity to speak Spanish outside of the classroom and learn about culture related to the Spanish-speaking world. Anyone is welcome to join. We meet every other Wednesday in 2102. There is a yearly dues fee of $15 which is collected in order to purchase snacks for each meeting.
Theater: Theatre builds a bridge of empathy, acceptance, and realization about other cultures, communities, histories, stories, and ways of life that are beyond the everyday experiences of our students. Westerville Central Theatre not only builds that bridge but assists our students to design and create it as well. By participating in theatre, in any role, students develop a deeper connection to their own imagination and vision which then encourages further exploration and development of their own artistic talents, curiosities, passions and pursuits. Come see where our bridges will take you, either backstage or on stage, your journey awaits.
