Walnut Springs eighth-grader wins Cross Country state meet

Jordan Mazak, an eighth-grader at Walnut Springs Middle School, beat out 150 runners for the top time at the Ohio High School Athletic Association State Meet for Cross Country Boys teams on Oct. 24 at Fortress Obetz. 

Mazak won the two-mile race with a time of 11:34.7.

The boys team placed seventh overall and includes the following members: Noah Kemp, Zaine Foster, Caiden Daniel, Spencer Cowgill, James Vasselo, Keller Hyde, Cameron Marsolo, Mike Jones, and Nicholas Hageman.

“This is an amazing group of young men and a great end to a great season,” Coach Aaron Fenzel said.
