On Saturday, October 19, student cross country athletes from Walnut Springs, Heritage, and Genoa middle schools competed in the OHSAA 7th & 8th Grade State Meet at Ohio University in Lancaster. Winning the boys’ two-mile race was 8th grader Ben Gabelman from Walnut Springs, with a time of 10:56.9. Also placing in the top 20, and the fastest 7th grader, was Jeffrey Kerns from Heritage, with a time of 11:32.6.
