Westerville City School District (WCSD) officials today announced the release of an updated Spring 2019 local testing calendar for middle school students.
“We’ve continued to work closely with administrators and teachers to develop a comprehensive testing calendar that best meets the needs of our students,” said Dr. Scott Ebbrecht, WCSD’s director of assessment and alternative education. “We collectively felt that our middle school students could benefit from taking the English Language Arts (ELA) Ohio State Test over the course of two days, as opposed to taking both parts of the ELA test in one sitting.”
Ebbrecht noted that an annual goal is to create a calendar that not only complies with state requirements, but meets the needs of all stakeholders based upon previously gathered input. “This updated testing calendar clearly articulates the assessments administered at each grade level,” he explained. “It also reflects staff, student, and parental feedback obtained through formal, coordinated outreach efforts.”
