There is nothing like 950 screaming middle school students to start the new school year off with a bang.  On Wednesday afternoon, August 30, pupils from Walnut Springs Middle School packed the gymnasium for a raucous assembly that featured positive messages from Principal Rebecca Yanni and Assistant Principal Ernest Clinkscale.  Fall athletic teams were introduced as cheerleaders led the young audience in enthusiastic support.  Students were encouraged to start the new year on a high note by studying hard, exhibiting positive behavior, and getting involved in school activities.  This event marked the first of many pep rallies that will be held in celebration of athletics and academics.
