Approximately 540 community members filled the lanes at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace on Saturday, February 13, to raise more than $40,000 for the Westerville Chamber Foundation, the Westerville Education Foundation, and the Westerville Symphony.  Event proceeds fund scholarships, provide grants and bring musical performances and programs to the classroom for students.

The 16th annual Westerville Community Bowl-a-thon also featured an Executive Challenge, where representatives from local businesses and organizations competed for the coveted Golden Bowling Pin trophy.  This year’s Executive Challenge drew 46 bowlers, and the top prize was earned, for the fourth time, by Glenn Epting of Edward Jones Investments, who bowled a whopping 221.  Lunch was provided by Papa John’s.

A drawing was held for a grand prize package of various items collectively valued at approximately $4,200.  Theresa Craig won the raffle, with prizes including free pizza for a year from Papa Johns; gym passes from Yoga Factory and Anytime Fitness; a gift basket from Zumba Party with Natalia; gift cards for facials from Skin Oasis; gift cards from Abulelos, Las Margaritas, BW3’s, Shirley’s Popcorn, Whit’s Frozen Custard, Time and Change, W.G. Grinders, Classic Pizza, Sunny Street Deli, Kroger’s, and Meza; a Road Kit from AAA, computer service from PSEE Solutions; a gift bag from Cryan Veterinary Hospital; Columbus Crew tickets; Otterbein basketball and play tickets; and Spirit Wear from Otterbein and Westerville North, Central and South high schools.

Presenting sponsor for the Bowl-a-thon was the Westerville Amateur Soccer Association (WASA).
